I looked for the “like” button when I read your longer response. Thank you for articulating this. It is so disturbing that she and the like-minded continue to see absolutely no problem with calling a man a “boy”
PS I wonder why I am not given the option here as commenting using my own (blogspot) details. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks Jenbob. When Astra comments, it is also without using a blogger profile. Perhaps you can comment via WordPress on blogspot sites but not vice versa. Bit narrow-minded of WP, if so.
It’s sad that so many people don’t seem to get it in that thread, but you still made your opinion heard, fairly and I respect that a lot. I think it’s possible she did get it but was embarrassed by her ill choice of words and so resorted to being overly defensive instead of saying “good point gail, your right, sorry”. I also find sometimes people call me overly PC when I point out racist or homophobic language but I think it’s important that people are called out about it or it keeps being used without thought, especially around here I find people don’t mean harm they just have so little interaction with other cultures they don’t know what’s appropriate language.
